Ruthless Palworld 1.0: Demfire’s Challenge Run
Game Title: Palworld | Version: v1.0+
These game settings for Palword 1.0 are designed to be challenging and based on my permadeath run on the initial release of Palworld (permadeath, hard, ended 0.1.4.1).
Changelog:
– July, 10: the settings are still the same after the 1.0 update, they just moved the x4 slider to x1.5 on hard, which we set to x5 either way. Edited the value in the instructions below.
– July, 14: added a no Pal selling and stat boost restriction to the base rules and an advanced rule (optional).
– July; 19: added to base rules: any forms of cheat-death (like Herbil’s passive) are banned.
– July, 24: finished the game (with the advanced rule included).
Server Settings
The “hardcore” preset is easy mode, we’re going to transform the “hard” preset into a custom hardcore instead.
1. Pick the [Hard] difficulty, then click on [Custom Settings], this will preset all sliders to the proper values already, except 1.

2. Scroll down to [Damage to Player Multiplier] and get the value from x1.5 to x5, don’t touch any other slider.

3. Scroll all the way down and:
[Enable Fast Travel] to OFF.
[Hardcore Mode: Perm…] to ON.
[Hardcore Mode: Pals…] to ON.
[Allow Pal Genetic…] to OFF.
[Allow Pals to be…] to OFF.

Gameplay Rules
– Base rules –
Blind
Don’t lookup any external information, Palworld 1.0 reworks a lot of stuff making the game different from the initial release.
Permadeath
Gameover when you die, each Pal that dies can also not be revived (this is part of the hardcore settings).
Single Pal per Fight
You can still unsummon/resummon it in order to avoid damage, just don’t send another Pal out.
Same Pal Breeding
If you want an Anubis, you will have to catch 1 male Anubis and 1 female Anubis in order to breed it.
No Pal Selling
We don’t do that here. Also prevents infinite money.
Tower 1-Escape
You are allowed to exit the first time if you clearly don’t have the damage (the timer is a dps check).
Stat Boost Restriction
A stat can’t exceed your level. Example: you are 30, you can have 15+15 in Health, or 10+20, or 5+25, etc..
No Cheat Death Mechanic
Every form of cheat-death, like Herbil’s passive, are banned.
– Advanced rules (optional) –
5 Same Pal Catch Limit
You can’t directly catch a Pal which you hit 5/5 on (exception: Shiny). You can still buy, rescue and breed them.
In my original permadeath run, after Palworld released in Early Access, I beat the end boss with less than 10 seconds left on the timer. The settings were the default “hard” ones, with permadeath on top since the hardcore settings were not yet in the game. These new settings are slightly harder, setting the damage taken to the max value of x5 from x4 and having Pals not revive through the new hardcore settings.
Have fun.
